Renaissance - A Song for All Seasons (1978)
This may not be their best effort, but for me, it vividly captures the atmosphere of the age (and my awkward one), along with other symphonic rock albums I was listening to in the late '70s.
I absolutely adored Annie Haslam's voice (it gave me goose bumps, just like Sandy Denny's, Maddy Prior's and Judy Collins's), and thanks to her ability to maintain grace under pressure, she makes even the weaker songs here totally sufferable. Splendid strings by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the LP artwork's divine!
